AMP Capital has given self-managed super fund (SMSF) trustees and other self-directed way to access six of its funds by making them available through the Australian Stock Exchange’s mFund Settlement Service.
The AMP Capital products that are now available as mFunds are:
− Corporate Bond Fund
− Global Listed Infrastructure Fund (unhedged)
− Global Property Securities Fund
− Income Generator
− Equity Income Fund
− Multi-Asset Fund
AMP Capital Head of SMSF Tim Keegan said: “SMSF trustees and other self-directed investors arelooking for different ways to access unique investment opportunities to help them meet their investment goals. As an mFund Foundation Member, AMP Capital is pleased to now offer mFund versions of six of our most popular funds to give these investors greater choice, control and flexibility when they’re constructing their portfolios. The funds offer benefits such as capital growth, steady income and international diversification and allow investors to take advantage of major investment themes such as infrastructure.”
The funds selected to go onto the mFund platform have proven popular among retail investors during the past 12 months. Overall funds under management for the Corporate Bond Fund, Income Generator and the Global Listed Infrastructure Fund have soared to more than A$1 billion for each product this year while total SMSF flows to all AMP Capital funds are up 70 per cent compared to 2013.
Mr Keegan added: “With interest rates at record lows and term deposit rates subsequently dwindling, we’re seeing investors shift their money to investment options that provide them with better outcomes.
As a result, there has been strong interest in funds that are meeting investor needs such as the Corporate Bond Fund, Income Generator and Global Listed Infrastructure Fund. We look forward to adding more of our high quality, active funds to the mFund Settlement Service next year.”
