SMSF Investment & Regulation Webinar: Investing for the future and preparing for the worst

On Tuesday August 29th 2017, AMP Capital hosted an SMSF Investment and Regulation Insights Webinar: "Investing for the future and preparing for the worst".

In this webinar, industry experts Dr Shane Oliver and Graeme Colley tackled key investment and regulation considerations for SMSFs. The topics covered incldued:

  • What the recent “market noise” means for SMSF investors (including Brexit, the election of President Trump, and changes in global bank policies),

  • What this means for the way SMSF investors should position their portfolios into 2018, and

  • The key regulatory issues SMSFs need to stay on top of, such as death benefits and the $1.6 million transfer balance cap

After the webinar, a short poll was also conducted asking attendees which asset class they are most likely to increase their allocation to in the next 6 months. Shares, infrastructure, and commerical property were the most popular, with 80% of respondees planning to increase their allocation to one of these three asset classes in the next 6 months.
