The brand new sites will offer cinema goers a first-to-Perth experience, with HOYTS bringing customers every seat in every cinema fitted out with exclusive powered recliner seating where guests can sit back and enjoy the movie in comfort. Xtremescreens will also be a feature that boasts the biggest screens in the complex complete with DOLBY ATMOS surround sound giving audiences greater immersion into the movie. For that extra touch of luxury, HOYTS LUX is the unforgettable premium cinema experience, offering delicious gourmet food and wine selections with an in-cinema dining service.
HOYTS Group CEO, Damian Keogh says, “We’re thrilled to be upgrading and growing HOYTS’s footprint in the Perth market with a sensational new cinema experience that’s been created with our customers in mind, focusing on quality, atmosphere and comfort, for a one-stop-shop for the most entertaining trip to the movies”.
The new cinemas will bring exciting food, drink and snack options, and for those with a sweet tooth ‘Treat City’ will be a favourite stop with a huge selection of self-serve candy bar treats.
The introductions of these new cinemas are welcomed additions to the communities of Stirling in the north and Melville in the south. Both cinema complexes will form part of the new leisure, dining and entertaining precincts planned for the centres as part of their redevelopments.
Karrinyup Shopping Centre will welcome its first cinema complex in this new deal, with City of Stirling Mayor Giovanni Italiano expressing his delight with the deal. “The cinemas are much-needed and welcomed by the Stirling community and I fully support the introduction of HOYTS into Karrinyup Shopping Centre. It is great to be able to give our community more choice,” said Mayor Italiano.
The complex will be the only HOYTS cinema north of the CBD, with 11 screens, including two Xtremescreens. The Karrinyup Shopping Centre redevelopment will deliver a number of new large format international retailers, high-quality fashion retailers, an exciting food and entertainment offering and residential apartments.
The proposed Garden City development will include an expanded cinema complex with 11 screens. City of Melville Mayor Russell Aubrey is pleased to see the cinemas improved as part of a wider plan to develop Garden City. “The proposed Garden City redevelopment is such an exciting project for the City of Melville and it will be wonderful to see the new cinemas come to life as part of our vision for a new cultural hub and main street precinct. With the community indicating they would like to see the current civic spaces and facilities improved, I know they will welcome this fantastic new HOYTS complex and look forward to visiting it in the future,” Mayor Aubrey said.
The new Garden City will include refurbished department stores, two new full-line supermarkets, large format international fast fashion retailers and flagship stores, a comprehensive main street casual dining and leisure precinct, and a broad assortment of fresh food offerings.
