Queensland’s newest fashion destination celebrated another milestone today as David Jones, H&M and UNIQLO opened at Pacific Fair. The celebrations kick off the final stage of the centre’s $670 million redevelopment which will see it transformed into the largest shopping centre in Queensland.

AMP Capital Shopping Centres Managing Director, Bryan Hynes and David Jones Ambassador, Jesinta Campbell, were on-site for the opening which saw hundreds of shoppers come through the door to see ‘The Resort’ precinct and to be the first to visit the new retailers including David Jones, H&M and UNIQLO, along with more than 20 specialty stores.

AMP Capital Shopping Centres Managing Director, Bryan Hynes said, “Today’s retail openings mark the beginning of an exciting new phase of the Pacific Fair redevelopment, which will take Queensland’s fashion offering to new heights. This includes H&M and UNIQLO, who today opened their first stores on the Gold Coast, as well as luxury retailers including Bally, CHANEL Fragrance and Beauty, Christian Louboutin, Coach, and Salvatore Ferragamo.”

Other new stores include Bed Bath N Table, Camilla, Dion Lee, Kate Spade, Kit and Ace, L'Occitane, MIMCO, Seed, Superdry, TUMI and UGG Australia.

“When the opening of Pacific Fair is complete in mid-2016, the centre will have an unparalleled retail mix with a combination of international high-street stores, iconic global, luxury brands and leading Australian fashion, leisure and lifestyle retailers,” said Bryan Hynes.

As the fastest growing region in Australia, the Gold Coast continues to rapidly attract new residents driven by the area’s lifestyle, climate and opportunities. The Gold Coast is also a tourism mecca, attracting more than 12 million visitors per year, which gives Pacific Fair retailers the opportunity to be exposed to shoppers from all over the world.

Once Pacific Fair’s redevelopment is complete in mid-2016, the centre will feature a unique mix of international high street brands, luxury retailers and Australian designers plus premium tourism services, personalised experiences and fine dining options.
