2009 achievements
2009 was another successful year for AMP Capital Office & Industrial’s CR commitment. Our 2009 sustainability performance numbers on energy, water and waste are currently being finalised and will be available soon. In the meantime, outlined below are just a few of the successful initiatives achieved during the year.
In 2009, AMP Capital Office & Industrial achieved the following sustainability initiatives:
- Secured over $1.5 million in federal grants from the Green Building Fund for sustainability projects across our office portfolio
- A partnership was announced with the Clinton Climate Initiative for sustainability projects at key office buildings in Sydney and Melbourne
- AMP Capital Investors was again proud to participate in Earth Hour for a third consecutive year. We were there for the first Sydney-only Earth Hour and among the first to switch off the lights not only in Sydney, but right across our national portfolio
AMP Capital Office & Industrial’s commitment to corporate responsibility also produced a number of outcomes in 2009 for our community, including the following initiatives at the local level:
- A partnership with OzHarvest was established with collections from the AMP Plaza in Sydney resulting in more than 3,200 meals for Sydney's homeless
- The “Adopt-a-Charity” programme was extended to a further three key assets: Angel Place in Sydney (Day of Difference); Collins Place in Melbourne (Cystic Fibrosis Trust); and our newly developed building at the Coronation Drive Office Park in Brisbane, CDOP4 (Day of Difference)
