AMP Capital is the Australian capital market’s most experienced subordinated and mezzanine debt arranger, underwriter and investor.
We have a global presence with experience in all key markets including Australia, Europe, the US and Asia and offices in Sydney and London. With a 12-year track record of investing in private debt, we have deep long-term relationships with major international sponsors, investment banks, infrastructure equity managers and private equity firms and specialist knowledge and expertise in originating, evaluating and managing private debt.
We focus on negotiating favourable terms tailored to protect the interests of our investors. This can take the form of strong inter-creditor terms, including restrictions and covenants on senior debt and equity. In addition, we have ongoing access to sponsors and management, influencing management decisions such as capital expenditure, acquisitions and disposals.
The Private Debt team capitalises on AMP Capital’s wider investment resources, including a specialist infrastructure equity division, credit markets team, wider fixed income team and various equities teams. The team has invested a total of $3.8 billion in over 75 private debt transactions domiciled in more than 10 countries globally as at 31 December 2009.
