Investment team

Dr Shane Oliver, PhD, BA (Economics) (Hons), ASIA

As head of the Investment Strategy and Economics Team, Shane is responsible for AMP Capital’s diversified investment funds (with circa $A17 billion in assets). Shane is also responsible for providing economic forecasts and analysis of key variables and issues affecting, or likely to affect, all asset markets. In his capacity as AMP Capital’s Head of Investment Strategy and Chief Economist, he is a regular media commentator on major economic and investment market issues. He has extensive experience analysing the relative return outlook between the key asset classes including fixed interest, property and equities, and their relationship to the investment cycle.

Shane was appointed Chief Economist in December 1994 and Head of Investment Strategy and Chief Economist in January 2001.

Bob Cunneen, BEc, MAppFin, MSc

Bob joined AMP Capital in 1992. He is currently responsible for analysing and forecasting the Australian economy as well as global bond and currency markets. Bob is a member of the Investment Strategy and Economics team, which is responsible for formulating investment policy for AMP Capital. In his capacity as Senior Australian Economist he is a regular media commentator on major economic and investment market issues.

Prior to his current position, Bob was Senior Investment Advisor for the Australian and Global Fixed Interest team at AMP Capital where his primary responsibility was to be the main point of contact for Asia Pacific clients and consultants. He has a significant range of experience in Australian financial markets spanning the past 15 years, encompassing such roles as International Economist and Deputy Currency Manager with AMP Capital prior to 1998, as well as Bond and Currency Strategist from 1998 to 2001.

Nader Naeimi, BCom (Actuarial Studies & Finance), MCom (Finance), Dip TA (ATAA)

Nader commenced his current role in September 2000. His key responsibilities include asset allocation modelling and development, tactical asset allocation, market timing and portfolio management. Prior to this role Nader was a Senior Analyst responsible for quantitative research and analysis, with particular strength in optimisation techniques, risk management and derivative modelling. Nader commenced his career in 1995 as a Fund Administrator with Bankers Trust Funds Management. Following this, he joined GIO Asset Management in 1997 as an Investment Analyst providing quantitative and analytical services supporting the asset management function.

Colin Gibson, BCom, F Fin

Colin has worked for AMP in various capacities for the past 27 years. Prior to his appointment to the Multi Asset Group, Colin spent 10 years as a Wholesale Trust Platform Manager in the Product team where he was responsible for establishing AMP Capital’s trust platform; before becoming Head of Performance Analytics, driving operational improvements within the team while monitoring AMP Investments’ performance and attribution.

Currently Colin acts as Senior Investment Manager for Statutory Fund 2, where he is responsible for overseeing investment policies and cash flows, investigating new techniques to enable better return management and implementing tactical asset allocation decisions. Colin is also responsible for the annual review of the strategic mixes and ranges for the AMP Diversified Options and ensuring management and compliance within those guidelines.
