Rainmaker names AMP Capital Core Infrastructure Fund as best new product

We are delighted to announce that the AMP Capital Core Infrastructure Fund (Fund) has been named Best New Investment Product of the Year by financial research and media group, Rainmaker. This award is recognition of the Fund’s innovative structure and packaging, which is designed to diversify investor risk by combining listed and unlisted asset exposures in a globally diversified portfolio.

Through the Fund retail investors can now access the types of infrastructure assets that institutional investors and superannuation funds have benefited from for years.

Launched at the end of October 2007, the Fund has now achieved fund inflows of $125 million. It offers a diverse portfolio of infrastructure assets, ranging from airports and aged care to power transmission, distribution and water both in Australia and globally.

Portfolio Manager Mar Beltran said: “Our infrastructure investment criteria means we seek assets that offer cash flow stability with potential for capital growth. Assets that provide essential services, exhibit a sustainable competitive advantage, operate under regulatory regimes or long term supply agreements with low counterparty risk tend to have predictable long term revenue, which is generally linked to inflation.”

The Fund aims to provide investors with income and capital growth while managing risk through diversification, and has been rated by external research houses.
