New leadership for property funds
AMP Capital recently appointed a new Head of Property Funds Management, Chris Judd after an extensive internal and external search. The move follows the internal promotion of Andrew Bennett, who is moving to the position of Executive Business Development Manager. Chris, as an internal candidate, has been able to step into the role immediately. Prior to his promotion, Chris filled the role as Fund Manager of the AMP Capital Global Direct Property Fund.
In his new role, Chris will be responsible for all of our direct property investment products, including the AMP Capital Global Direct Property Fund. Having launched the AMP Capital Global Direct Property Fund in 2006, he will continue to play a key role in its development and strategy going forward. As he will continue to oversee this fund, we do not expect any disruptions to it and to funds such as the AMP Capital Core Property Fund, which invest into it.
Also supporting the AMP Capital Global Direct Property Fund will be Tim Fallet, who has been Assistant Portfolio Manager for the AMP Capital Core Property Fund since 2006. With over eight years of industry experience, Tim works to implement the Fund’s strategy and to ensure optimum performance. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
AMP Capital Director and Chief Investment Officer Property, Andrew Bird, says he is delighted to appoint an internal candidate to the Head of Property Funds Management position.
“Chris brings the necessary depth and breadth of property fund and capital markets knowledge and experience to this role. As an already key member of the property team we look forward to the ongoing success of Chris and his funds in future,” he says.
